Freyung-Grafenau district: No new COVID-19 cases reported!

On December 4, 2025, the corona numbers in Germany and especially in the Freyung-Grafenau district brought with them interesting developments. In the district in question, no new infections are reported today compared to the previous day. Instead, nine COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the past week, resulting in a 7-day incidence of 11.4 per 100,000 inhabitants. A total of 45,072 people have tested positive for the virus in this district since the beginning of the pandemic [news.de].

The situation in Bavaria as a whole still shows a worrying trend: here the numbers are increasing with 74 new infections and eight new deaths compared to the previous day. The Bavarian 7-day incidence is now 4.8 per 100,000 inhabitants, while the total number of people who tested positive in Bavaria is 6,888,261.

Nationwide location

I often hear the question: What is it like in the rest of Germany? There are current figures to report here too. Today, 716 new COVID-19 cases were registered nationwide, which corresponds to a 7-day incidence of 8.7 per 100,000 inhabitants. Unfortunately, we also have to report 15 new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths in Germany to 188,510. The total number of COVID-19 cases amounted to 39,142,289, according to corona-in-zahlen.de.

The proportion of deaths is 0.48%. It is therefore clear that the pandemic is still not without consequences. The vaccination rates show slight progress, the vaccination rate in Germany is 78.1% for at least one vaccination and 76.5% for the basic vaccination.

Vaccination statistics and hospital data

To make the whole thing a little more tangible, here is an overview of the vaccination statistics: For example, a total of 188,244,457 vaccine doses had been administered by April 8, 2023, which could be a ray of hope for many of the population. The distribution of the vaccines shows that the majority were administered in the form of Biontech and Moderna.

Vaccine Doses administered
Moderna 5,143,642
Biontech 46,595,520
AstraZeneca 9,272,833
Janssen 3,711,740
Novavax 72,005

Currently, the hospitalization rate is 0.91 with 768 hospitalized cases, and the proportion of COVID-19 intensive care patients in available intensive care beds has fallen to 0.4%.

If you look at the numbers, a mixed picture emerges: in some regions the situation gives hope, while in others there are still major challenges. So the pandemic is far from over and we must remain vigilant. With this in mind: stay healthy!
