The eastern districts such as Freyung-Grafenau, Regen, Deggendorf, Straubing-Bogen and Cham are particularly affected, where the storm calls for warnings.

In the early morning of September 16th, the weather situation in Munich, where thunderstorms were initially reported, was already more relaxed because the warning there was lifted. The DWD had warned of strong thunderstorms in Munich the evening before, but these had to move eastward during the night, while the warnings for the remaining Bavarian regions remained in force.

Weather warnings under the microscope

The DWD weather warning map for Bavaria currently shows warnings of squalls in the south and north. In some districts, gusts of up to 80 km/h may occur. In the north and west of the Free State the weather remains unstable, while the south can expect a little more sunshine.
In addition, the DWD warns in certain regions of other weather phenomena such as thunderstorms, which can last until 10 p.m. Storm gusts are also expected in the districts of Ansbach, Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen and Nuremberg.
