Stolen dog Taro found again in Olching – a happy ending!
What an exciting week for dog lovers in Olching! The prized Pinscher Taro, who was kidnapped in front of a Rewe market in Munich-Neuperlach on May 20th, has fortunately returned safely to his owner. The incident, which was documented on a surveillance camera on the day of the kidnapping, shows how an unknown person dragged the dog along while he was secured on a leash. Despite the owner's best efforts and an extensive search on social networks, Taro remained missing until June 10th Mercury reported.
On the day in question there was a happy ending: Taro was discovered by attentive animal lovers in Olching, directly opposite the train station. With the right feeling for the needs of their four-legged friend, they secured the dog and immediately started a search and rescue operation. However, the chip that was supposed to identify Taro in the best case scenario could not be read because it was defective. The animal rescuers then compared photos of Taro with the found dog and were able to find some similarities.
A reunion full of joy
Not long afterwards the owner was informed and set off for Olching. The emotional climax came when Taro recognized his owner and threw himself joyfully into her arms. While what Taro experienced during the three weeks he was missing remains uncertain, there is speculation as to whether the thief released him due to public pressure or whether Taro may have attempted to escape on his own.
But Olching had even more stories to offer! Another dog - a mixed breed dog - also found happiness when he was discovered in Gernlinden on Saturday afternoon. Thanks to the “Pfotenhelfer” association, this dog was also able to be returned to its owner after a chip scan returned no results. The finder took the dog into her home temporarily and brought the club into play, who quickly contacted the rightful owner. A German Shepherd that was recently roaming around Allacher Strasse was also secured, but the search for its owners continues South German newspaper reported.
Overall, these incidents show how important networking and willingness to help are in the animal world. In times when a little barking friend can quickly get lost, community is even more crucial. The fate of Taro and the other lost dogs reminds us how valuable our furry companions are and how quickly their fortunes and woes can change.
