Karmasin confirmed again as district administrator candidate - A race for the future!
The Fürstenfeldbruck CSU district association recently achieved a unanimous result: Thomas Karmasin will be nominated as a candidate for the district election in 2026. Together with 142 delegates who cast 140 yes votes and two invalid votes, Karmasin celebrated remarkable support. The nomination took place in the Mammendorf community center and he is clearly looking forward to the challenges ahead. “The best result I have ever achieved,” said Karmasin, who is running for office for the sixth time at the age of 62 and can look back on an impressive career. If elected, he is expected to be in office for 30 years, as the South Germans reported.
Katrin Staffler, the CSU district chairwoman, not only suggested Karmasin again, but also placed enormous value on his commitment and experience. Karmasin himself expressed his joy in hearing the population's concerns and offering solutions. With a clear view of the future, he emphasizes the urgency of creating opportunities and responding to the challenges of climate change. He points to the 18 secondary schools in the district and the deficit-free district clinic, which are seen as beacons of his term in office so far.
Experiences and future visions
Karmasin has developed a proven sensitivity to the needs of its citizens. In his role as President of the Bavarian District Council, he represents an important interface between the districts and state politics. His claim? To ensure “serious politics” without dancing on the left-wing political stage. He describes himself as a “neat householder” and makes a clear connection to the daily challenges that affect people in their lives.
He is now also calling for more intensive support for the upcoming election campaign in order to address the voters in Fürstenfeldbruck in the best possible way. The local elections, which will take place on March 8, 2026, and the subsequent run-off elections on March 22, represent a significant challenge for Karmasin and the entire CSU. The year 2026 therefore promises to be a big election year, with the last Bavarian local elections in March 2020 already taking place under special circumstances, as they took place in the middle of the pandemic, as was the case Danube Courier holds on.
Karmasin's path has been paved and the signs point to an election campaign. For the district administrator from Fürstenfeldbruck it will now be important to see whether he can once again convince voters of his plans and visions. On the question of whether he should run again because of his age, he remains optimistic and is ready to face the challenges of taking office for another six years.
