Viscardi-Gymnasium Christmas show: Laughing for a good cause!

On December 16, 2025, there was something very special for all theater lovers in the auditorium of the Viscardi High School. The high school's improvisational theater group invited people to the traditional Christmas show, and 80 guests eagerly accepted the invitation. The Bote district reports that the proceeds of the humorous performance, which consisted of improvised sketches, were donated to the Fürstenfeldbruck Tafel in the amount of 310 euros.

The performances had a special appeal because the actors had no fixed rehearsals. Rather, around 15 scenes were created directly from the audience's ideas. Proud terms like toilet lady, helium balloon and gnome language caused laughter and joy. Physical comedy wasn't neglected either, as the performances were full of movement and not only the audience but also the actors worked up a sweat.

A heart for the community

The improvisation theater, led by teacher Claus Hilgers, not only has a fun factor, but also a social mission. Since 2015, the group has donated the proceeds from their Christmas show to charity. According to the official Viscardi High School website In recent years, around 3,500 euros have already been transferred to well-known institutions such as Doctors Without Borders and UNICEF. This year the donation went to Wolfgang Lasar from the Fürstenfeldbrucker Tafel, which has been supporting people affected by poverty with food for 25 years.

The idea of improvisational theater is based on the fact that the actors do not know in advance what they are playing. How Improwiki explains, scenes are brought to life through spontaneous suggestions from the audience. This form of theater is enjoying increasing popularity, not only because of the surprising twists and turns in the stories, but also because of the opportunity to interact directly with the audience and capture their creativity.

A fun experience for everyone

The atmosphere was cheerful and relaxed throughout the evening. The audience laughed, cheered and donated to the good cause. Admission to the event was free, but donations were specifically requested to support the “Play Theater and Do Good” project. With an event like this, the Viscardi-Gymnasium shows that it not only imparts knowledge, but also has a lot of heart for the community.

So it remains to be seen what creative ideas the Viscardi High School actors will conjure up next year. In any case, it was a complete success this year! With so much commitment and inventiveness, the performers have once again proven that improvisational theater is not only fun, but also has a significant positive impact on society.
