Wind power expansion in Fürstenfeldbruck: Citizens shape the future!

A lot is happening in the Fürstenfeldbruck district when it comes to wind power. After years of hesitation and uncertain debates, there is now significant progress in the planning of new wind turbines. Particularly in the communities of Jesenwang, Mammendorf and Rottbach, work is being done diligently on implementation Mercury reported.

The Fürstenfeldbruck municipal utility company built the first wind turbines in the Mammendorf and Malching region in 2014 and 2015. These systems generally produced more green electricity than originally calculated. With the aim of increasing effectiveness, the new wind turbines should now be built higher. There is currently approval for the construction of two wind turbines in the municipality of Maisach/Rottbach.

Advances in wind power planning

The progress at the Jesenwang wind farm is particularly exciting, where many citizens are showing great interest in financial participation in the four planned systems. Approval was also granted for a large wind turbine in the forest near Aufkirchen in Egenhofen, the construction costs of which will be between 12 and 13 million euros. The hub height of other approved systems south of Jesenwang is also a remarkable 160 to 166 meters, with a rotor diameter of 160 meters.

Stadtwerke Fürstenfeldbruck is also working intensively on expanding the electricity network in order to meet the increasing demand for renewable energies. However, there are also negative voices: Critics express concerns about the potential defacement of the landscape and possible deforestation in the forest. The concerns expressed by some districts have long since become the central issue. There is resistance to some planned locations, especially at Jesenwang and Kottgeisering.

Citizen participation and planning in the city council

The city council rejected a CSU proposal for a minimum distance of 1,000 meters from residential development; instead, distances of 900 meters from districts and 1,500 meters from the city were set. City planning officer Johannes Dachsel advocates an open-ended approach in order to be able to examine the best locations individually.

Financial citizen participation

For anyone interested in getting involved in wind power in their area, the website offers... Wind industry in Germany updated guidelines on financial citizen participation. These guidelines help project sponsors and municipal utilities, organizations and municipalities to better understand and implement the possibilities of citizen participation. In addition to practical tips and legal frameworks, innovative models such as electricity bonuses and residents' electricity models are also discussed.

Citizens can actively participate in the energy transition and benefit from the profits at the same time. The phase of hesitation seems to have given way to confidence - good news for everyone who believes in a green future.
