Fürth players in national fever: Olesen & Co. ahead of big duels!
The SPVGG Greuther Fürth recently caused a stir: seven of the club's players were nominated for their national teams. The news surrounding the club's nominations officially came to light on November 12, 2025. Mathias Olesen will demonstrate his skills for the Luxembourg national team. On November 14th at 8:45 p.m. he will meet the German team at the Stade de Luxembourg, who are currently fighting to win the group, while Luxembourg has already been eliminated from World Cup qualification. Olesen will also play against Northern Ireland on November 17th, which represents an exciting challenge for him and his team.
But it's not just Olesen who has reason to be happy. Aaron Keller has been nominated for the Swiss U21 national team and can look forward to an important game on November 14th at 7:30 p.m. against France in the U21 European Championship qualification. Things continue for him too: Switzerland will face Luxembourg on November 18th.
Premieres and comebacks
There are some changes coming for the German U20 teams. Reno Münz and Lukas Reich were nominated and are celebrating two firsts: Münz returns after a year of absence after playing with the U19 in 2024. Reich, on the other hand, will play his first game in the U20s after taking part in the European Championships with the U19s in the summer. Both will face Romania in Spain on November 14th and face Italy again on November 17th. The mandatory date for Raul Marita is also exciting, as he will play against the two Fürth teams with the Romanian U20 and will also play against Portugal.
Another nomination goes to Adem Imeri and Arjanit Fazlija, who are fighting for European Championship qualification with the Kosovo U21 national team. Their challenges come against Cyprus and Finland, so expectations are high.
