Major exercise for emergency paramedics: Realistic rescue scenarios in stone!

On June 24, 2025, an impressive large-scale exercise by the Fürth Emergency Medicine Working Group (AGNF) will take place in Stein, in the Fürth district. Around 50 aspiring emergency paramedics have the opportunity to train their skills under realistic conditions. The exercise covers various rescue scenarios that are crucial for future rescue operations. The participants have to deal with situations such as a sudden birth, an accident at work or a traffic accident, among other things.

The event helps aspiring paramedics sharpen their skills in a controlled but challenging environment. Seven different operational situations are simulated at various locations, including the Forum shopping center and the Steiner town hall. Special medical training dummies and mimes are also used to illustrate what is happening, which makes the event even more realistic. This allows students to experience in practice what is expected of them in an emergency.

Intensive preparation and support

The exercise is not only a highlight of the training, but also an excellent example of practical cooperation in the rescue service. The exercise rescue control center at the Stein Volunteer Fire Department coordinates the alarms and the large number of emergency vehicles that are on the road in the city during this period, including twelve rescue vehicles. The participants also receive support from numerous aid organizations such as the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) Stein and the Johanniter accident aid Schwabach, which are actively involved in the exercise.

The overall organization and implementation of the event is supported by experienced practical instructors from all over Bavaria, who play an important role in the training of the young emergency paramedics. According to NN, this large-scale exercise is considered one of the most important within the training, in which the aspiring specialists can demonstrate their skills.

Training and career opportunities

The AGNF, which is behind this exercise, is one of the largest providers of emergency medical training and further education in Germany. In addition to training emergency paramedics, the academy also offers interesting opportunities for a voluntary social year (FSJ). This program makes it possible to make sensible use of the time until the next training or study period and at the same time make a valuable contribution to society. By taking part in the FSJ or in the extensive training courses, you can take a look at the educational work of the AGNF and thus prepare yourself for a career in the rescue service.

If you would like to find out more about training to become an emergency paramedic, you will find helpful information on My plus in the job. There is also comprehensive information on the AGNF website for all those who would like to work independently in the field of health and emergency medicine.

The exercise in Stein is not only a great opportunity for aspiring emergency paramedics to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, but also a step into a diverse and exciting professional world.
