Celle roller skaters shine at the international event in Garmisch!
Over the extended Pentecost weekend, an exciting international figure skating event took place at the Olympic Ice Sports Center in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Athletes from all over Germany and beyond gathered here to further their education and train. One team from Celle in particular, consisting of Emilia Grothe, Alina Schatt and Elizaveta Leonova, took advantage of the opportunity to work with top-class Italian coaches such as Luca Lallai, Patrick Venerucci and Marco Garelli. With their expertise, the coaches were a force that could not be ignored and opened up new perspectives for the young talents, as Celler Presse reports.
The entire event was brought back to life after a break of several years due to Corona and, in addition to the training courses already mentioned, also included numerous freestyle and pirouette units as well as ballet and athletic training. Participants like Lina, Marieta and Kiara from the Germany squad enjoyed the chance to deepen their skills with the support of trainers from all over Germany and Italy. Under the guidance of the German national coach Luca Lallei, not only was the technique refined, but also work was done on group show numbers that were presented at the big show run. TG Westhofen Roll emphasizes that the event is particularly aimed at optimally preparing the athletes for the upcoming season highlights.
A highlight: the closing gala
The event culminated in a brilliant gala, where all participants had the opportunity to show the skills they had learned to a broad audience. A special highlight was the performance of the Italian pair skating duo Micol Mills and Tommaso Cortini, who completely thrilled the audience with their free skate. This type of exchange and encounter between emerging talents and experienced athletes is one of the strengths of this international roller skating event.
After the exciting weekend, the Celle team is now returning home full of motivation. The athletes are optimistic about the upcoming national championships and not only bring new skills with them, but also a lot of fresh ideas and suggestions that they can incorporate into their regeneration and training. In addition to these high goals, the fun of roller skating should not be neglected, as it creates the basis for further success.
Figure roller skating is on everyone's lips
Artistic roller skating is booming and becoming more and more popular. According to the Velberter SG, this sport is very similar to figure skating, but it takes place on roller skates. Those interested have the opportunity to get a taste of trial training, and there are also special groups for adults who train under qualified supervision. The big trend shows: Figure skating is more than just a hobby - it is a passion that connects and promotes.
