Michael Fux presents bold ideas for Oberammergau: election campaign started!
The mayoral election campaign is just around the corner in Oberammergau and candidate Michael Fux has clear ideas about how he wants to move the community forward. At another appearance at the Hotel Böld, the 51-year-old presented his ideas and received a lot of encouragement from the around 70 listeners. Fux, who sees himself as a challenger to incumbent mayor Andi Rödl, appeared significantly less nervous during his presentation than during his first appearance in December. He has mentally prepared himself for the challenges ahead and announced an objective and fair election campaign, which does not rule out some challenges to his competition. Merkur reports that Fux forgoes leaflets and instead playfully advertises himself with photo montages and his mascot, a fox.
The issues that are close to his heart include the introduction of a second home tax, a flower decoration competition and a New Year's reception for new residents. But the mayoral candidate also wants to push forward with improving the local infrastructure. The lighting for the Ammerweg is just one of his planned projects. He emphasizes that tourism in the region should be strengthened and sees stronger networking with Garmisch-Partenkirchen as essential.
Innovative ideas for Oberammergau
Fux is looking for innovative solutions, particularly when it comes to the subject of Wellenberg. While he doesn't have a concrete concept for a year-round pool, the fight for it is important to him. Fux calls on Ammergauer Alpen GmbH and the neighboring communities to share responsibility. He is also critical of the attractiveness of the Wellenberg and suggests covering construction fences with mesh banners and setting up a climbing hall in the slide house.
Another item on his list is converting the fire station into a residential and commercial building. In the area of passion plays, Fux is calling for a revision of ticket allocation and would like to introduce a new golden category for the most expensive tickets, which would also be reserved for local landlords. His suggestions aim to make the event more accessible to everyone.
Michael Fux's career
Michael Fux is not only an ambitious politician, but also a family man. Born in Ogau and with roots in Swabia, he has his roots in Augsburg and Garmisch.
