Legoland Germany disappoints: Last place among the best theme parks!
Summer is in full swing and with it comes exciting news from the world of theme parks. There was a surprising turnaround at the Travelers' Choice Awards this year. Loud Mercury Legoland Germany in Günzburg took last place among the top 24 theme parks in Europe, which many would probably not have expected. With an average of 4.0 stars from over 6,000 reviews, the Bavarian Lego bricks have to hold their own in the face of strong competition.
Visitors appreciate the clarity, the friendly staff and the short queues, and many are particularly impressed by the impressive aquarium. But a look at the fares shows that there is still room for improvement. While Legoland Billund in Denmark shines with 4.2 stars and is not in the top 6 for nothing, Legoland Park in Günzburg is ranked lower in a Europe-wide comparison.
The best of the best
According to Tripadvisor, the best theme parks in Europe are not just theme parks in the classic sense, but also offer a wide range of entertainment:
- 1. Heide Park (Deutschland)
- 2. Le Puy du Fou (Frankreich)
- 3. Web Adventure Park (Großbritannien)
- 4. Paultons Park (Großbritannien)
- 5. Drayton Manor Park (Großbritannien)
- 6. Legoland Billund (Dänemark)
- 7. Milky Way Adventure Park (Großbritannien)
- 8. Walt Disney Studios Park (Frankreich)
- 9. Djurs Sommerland (Dänemark)
- 10. Bellewaerde-Park (Belgien)
The Heide Park in Soltau was even named the overall winner, and for good reason: the highest wooden roller coaster in Europe captivates adrenaline junkies from near and far.
Popularity of parks in Germany
But it's not just the internationally award-winning parks that are of interest: an extensive comparison of leisure and adventure parks in Germany, based on an evaluation of 1.3 million online reviews, shows that Irrland in Kevelaer received the highest shower of stars. With an impressive average rating of 4.8 stars (over 21,922 reviews), the park is ahead in North Rhine-Westphalia. In contrast to this is the Westerheim family park, which only has 3.4 stars and is therefore at the bottom of the rankings. All of this information comes from an investigation testreports.de.
For the overall rating, over 110 theme parks were considered, with the average being 4.37 stars. He also thinks that's a good reason to visit one of the numerous parks ADAC, which provides a comprehensive overview of theme parks in Germany and lists many savings tips for this year's season.
Many parks are presenting new attractions this season, and in some cases the admission prices have also increased. Not to forget: ADAC members can benefit from attractive discounts in numerous theme parks. So nothing stands in the way of a visit to the theme park!
