From mid-November 2025, Dillingen, Günzburg and Neu-Ulm will be transformed into a “Swabian nativity scene paradise” with numerous exhibitions and festive events until February 2nd.

A true feast for the senses is just around the corner! From mid-November, the districts of Dillingen, Günzburg and Neu-Ulm will be transformed into the “Swabian nativity scene paradise”. As the Augsburger Allgemeine reported that numerous private houses, churches, museums and other facilities opened for the traditional nativity scene viewing. This event not only attracts families, but also art and culture enthusiasts who can enjoy the beauty of the handcrafted nativity scenes.
Until Candlemas on February 2nd, 16 exhibitions, almost 70 churches and chapels as well as 22 private houses and gardens are available to visitors. The nativity scenes feature elaborately designed figures that are hand-carved, made of clay or even orientally inspired. The life-size, illuminated figures and the impressive nativity scenes, which are illuminated outdoors, are particularly impressive. It will truly be a feast for the eyes!
Events for young and old
But watching the nativity scene is only part of the colorful program. In the run-up to Christmas there are numerous events planned to provide entertainment. Advent and Christmas concerts, theater performances, fairy tales and even cabaret are on the program and invite you to enjoy the contemplative time. The Family and children's region emphasizes that the Advent and Christmas markets in the region also exude a special magic. From cozy village square magic to festive markets in old towns, each event has its own charm.
Another highlight is the Winter Wonder Legoland, which transforms the theme park into a winter world between November 28th and January 6th. Here visitors can expect an ice skating rink, special shows and numerous other attractions that are an unforgettable experience, especially for the little ones. The 43 Advent and Christmas markets also invite you to stroll through the festively decorated streets and let yourself be infected by the Christmas spirit.
