Bavaria-wide: Big inclusion tournament in Sand – football for everyone!
On June 20, 2025, a nationwide football final tournament will take place in Sand am Main that will be all about inclusion. FC Sand organizes this special event together with Lebenshilfe Bayern, under the motto “We stay on the ball”. This year, teams from all over Bavaria will take part in the tournament, which has proven itself since 1983 and is a highlight for everyone involved year after year. The State Association of Workshops for Disabled People (LAG WfbM) and Lebenshilfe Bayern are the driving forces behind this event, which emphasizes the importance of community and participation.
The Bavarian Football Association not only supports the tournament with match balls, but also provides referees. This support is important to ensure that the tournament runs smoothly and professionally. The commitment of the teams involved also shows a strong solidarity within the football community.

In the first league, defending champions BVS Fürth and teams such as Wefa Ahorn, Wabe Erlangen and Noris Inklusion Nürnberg compete against each other. Sport as a path to inclusion
Sport and inclusion are closely intertwined. The German Disabled Sports Association (DBS) acts as the first point of contact for anyone who would like to find out more about sports for the disabled. There are numerous sports that are also accessible to people with disabilities, including blind football, wheelchair basketball and para-judo. The Paralympic Games, which are regularly based on the Olympic Games, offer a valuable platform to shine a spotlight on inclusive sports.
These initiatives impressively show that exercise and sport not only promote physical well-being, but can also break down barriers and strengthen social participation. Lebenshilfe Bayern follows the motto “Together – we shape participation” and is actively committed to supporting and integrating over 50,000 people with disabilities.
The football tournament in Sand am Main is more than just a competition - it is a celebration of inclusion and togetherness that is very popular throughout the region. The anticipation for the games is palpable, and the commitment of everyone involved shows that an impressive community is coming together here.
