Family hike to see the stag beetle: discover nature in the Haßgarten!

An exciting discovery tour through nature is about to begin! The hiking and local association Kemmern 1975 e. V. invites all nature lovers to a family hike on the popular Stag Beetle Trail a. On Sunday, June 29, 2025, it starts at 10 a.m. from the hiking car park at the Kemmern sports home. The approximately 5 kilometer long route shows the impressive flora and fauna of the region between the Haßberge and the Main valley.

The hike will be led by the experienced nature park ranger Katja Winter, who will provide exciting insights into the ecosystem. Participants have the opportunity to see, among other things, the stag beetle, which in earlier times was often found in the Kemmerner Flur and on the edge of the forest. Here you can also find important information about the local orchards and tips on how to encourage stag beetles in your own garden. A welcome addition to this nature exploration!

Important information for participants

Participation in the family hike is free of charge and registration is not required. However, donations are always welcome. Make sure you bring suitable footwear, weather clothing and enough drinks. Sun protection should also not be missing in these summer months. The region offers a variety of habitats, characterized by mighty forests, rolling hills, juniper heaths and bubbling streams explains the Haßberge Nature Park.
