Haßberge triumphs: ÖDP represented on the district board again!

A new wind is blowing in the Ecological Democratic Party (ÖDP) in Lower Franconia: The Haßberge district is again represented on the district board after an exciting new election. As inFranken reports, Dieter Sauer, an experienced administrative officer from Zeil and treasurer in the ÖDP Haßberge district association for many years, was elected as an assessor. Esther Wagenhäuser, a committed graduate engineer from Knetzgau, also found her place on the board and brings in her experience from previous board work.

The management team is completed by Bernhard Schmitt, who acts as a city councilor in Aschaffenburg and was re-elected district chairman, and Waldemar Bug, who, as the experienced former mayor of Burkardroth, continues to act as deputy. Particular attention is paid to Hubertus Brand, who remains active as district treasurer and, with his previous experience as a finance officer, takes care of the party's financial matters. New to the team is Dr. Hans von Besser, a biologist who works intensively on water and sponge city issues.

New momentum for the ÖDP in Lower Franconia

The new district executive board is part of a larger restructuring of the party as it prepares for the upcoming district and city council elections in 2026. At the last general meeting of the ÖDP in the Miltenberg district, Wolfgang Winter was confirmed in his office as chairman. He gave an overview of recent activities and announced the first information events that have already been successfully held. This can be summed up well: We are working hard here to present the best offers to voters in Lower Franconia.

As part of “Tree Day”, the Vath family from Roßbach planted trees, which underlines the environmental awareness among the population. Aronia was also harvested, another measure to promote regional products. The ÖDP also emphasizes the importance of hospital care and has collected numerous signatures to submit a petition to ensure this care service by October 31, 2025.

Representative in Lower Franconia

The ÖDP has some well-known faces in elected positions in Lower Franconia. According to information from ÖDP Bayern, city councilor Bernhard Schmitt from Aschaffenburg is one of the party's prominent representatives. Within the Haßberge district, Rainer Baumgärtner and Stefan Zettelmeier are represented in the district council, while Monika Schraut, who is independent, also claims her place in the district council. In the other regions of Lower Franconia there are also numerous elected representatives who represent the concerns of the citizens.

In summary, the ÖDP in Lower Franconia is active, committed and well positioned for the coming challenges. It remains exciting to see how the new board and the committed members of the party will assert themselves in the district and beyond. Voters can look forward to a breath of fresh air and interesting approaches!
