Solar aid for Mostyska: Haßberge district starts major fundraising campaign!
The cooperation between the Haßberge district and the Ukrainian city of Mostyska is entering the next round. mainfranken.news reports that a new project has been launched to build a decentralized energy infrastructure in Mostyska. This initiative is no coincidence, as numerous aid deliveries, such as medical equipment, buses and construction machinery, have already been made to the twin city in the past.
An important part of this project is the installation of a photovoltaic system with buffer storage, which is supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). This system will in particular supply electricity to the local hospital in Mostyska. The district not only organizes the transport, but also takes care of all the necessary customs formalities and the installation of the technology. The transport costs amount to around 6,000 euros, with additional expenses for assembly and commissioning to be expected. A fundraising campaign together with the association “Haßfurt-hilft” e. V., should now provide the necessary funds.
Fundraising campaign for Ukraine
The aim of this fundraising campaign is to strengthen the energy independence of the city of Mostyska. The chairman of the “Haßfurt-hilft” association, Volker Ortloff, is convinced of the importance of this project. Support also comes from the community: citizens can contribute via two donation accounts. These can be found at Sparkasse Schweinfurt-Haßberge and the club itself. Online donations can be made easily using a QR code on the website www.hassfurt-hilft.de.
But the help that flows from Haßberge is not just limited to the construction of solar power plants. As part of the commitment, a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter was also handed over to Ukraine. With the appropriate modifications, this vehicle serves as barrier-free transport for people with limited mobility in the region. This important measure was financed by the Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), which supports projects between German and Ukrainian municipalities.
Education and infrastructure aid
In addition to the vehicle handover, those responsible in Mostyska were also pleased to receive used digital learning and work equipment: five projectors, five PCs and five whiteboards from the Wallburg-Realschule Eltmann will help to improve the education sector in the city. These handovers took place as part of a delegation trip to Haßfurt on the occasion of Franconian Day, where Mayor Miroslava Pelc of Mostyska and representatives of the Polish partner district of Klobuck were present.
“We reaffirm our commitment,” emphasized District Administrator Wilhelm Schneider, “because in difficult times it is important to stand together.” Mayor Pelc also expressed her gratitude for the ongoing support. The two sides agree that cooperation is not only important in times of crisis, but should also be continued in the long term through practical assistance and the exchange of knowledge and experiences.
