Midsummer or storm? Bavaria experiences changeable weather at the weekend!

The weather situation in Bavaria will show its changeable side in the coming days. On July 14, 2025, we can look forward to temperatures of up to 30 degrees, after previously having to live with frequent rain and cooler temperatures below 20 degrees. Saturday evening, July 12th, in particular, brings heavy rain in the Bavarian Forest, which can amount to up to 20 liters per square meter. And that's not all: hail and stormy gusts are also in the forecast, which makes the forecast exciting. So reported Mercury.

But Sunday, July 14th, will be friendlier: a mix of sun and clouds is expected, with temperatures expected to be a pleasant 26 degrees. In the ominous area south of the Danube, the risk of thunderstorms increases on Sunday evening. The relaxing weather on Monday night, right after the last showers and thunderstorms have subsided, is impressive with both its clear skies and low cloud cover.

Thunderstorms and storms approaching

Again German Weather Service further reported, a low that lies west of the British Isles is moving in our direction and is bringing moist, labile warm air with it. This Saturday, more thunderstorms are moving from west to east across Bavaria. Heavy rain with over 20 liters per square meter can be expected locally in a short period of time, and stormy gusts can reach speeds of up to 80 km/h. In the second half of the day there could even be small-scale storms with heavy rain of up to 40 liters per square meter and hail with a diameter of up to 2 cm.

Tuesday promises once again unusual weather conditions, as thunderstorms with similar symptoms are expected again from the early afternoon hours. While temperatures fluctuate between 22 and 27 degrees during the day, they drop to a cooler 15 to 10 degrees at night. Monday's weather activity already suggests a volatile week ahead BR assessed.

Outlook for the coming week

According to the forecasts for the next few days, the weather in Bavaria will remain unstable. Wednesday will have changing weather and temperatures between 17 and 22 degrees. There isn't much peace in sight on Thursday either. Shower-like rainfall is planned, affecting some of the northern half and some of the southern half, limiting maximum temperatures to 18 to 23 degrees.

It will also be brisk in the mountains with strong winds from the west to northwest. The nights remain quite cool with temperatures between 13 and 8 degrees, and despite the fresh summer air, the humidity is particularly noticeable in the lowlands.

In summary, we can look forward to an exciting weather week that offers us everything from sunshine to thunderstorms! So stay alert because extreme weather events are more common than ever.
