Pflügler Adventure Farm: A celebration of regional diversity in Neufahrn!
In Neufahrn, where fresh country air meets innovative concepts, the Pflügler family's adventure farm finally opened its doors on October 3rd and 4th, 2025 after a five-year development period. The farm festival not only celebrated, but also strengthened the connection between agriculture and society. The Pflügler family, who took over the farm in 2018, is demonstrating a good hand for the future. Their farm, which has existed since 1913, is now a multifunctional center in the heart of the region.
The Hoffest offered visitors a colorful program with regional products, tours of the new facilities and a variety of events. “We want direct contact with our visitors and show what we produce in harmony with nature,” says Carolin Pflügler. A special highlight was the inauguration of the new brewery, which allows guests to taste home-brewed beers. The product range ranges from fresh fruit and vegetables to meat products and home-made eggs, all of which are sold directly in the farm shop. Here, buyers can understand the origin and production conditions of the products and thus enjoy regionality and transparency up close.
New concept with big challenges
For the Pflüglers, planning and implementing the new farm was no walk in the park. Bureaucratic hurdles, unauthorized development plans, cost explosions and delivery difficulties caused by the corona pandemic and the war in Ukraine posed major challenges. In total, the project costs amounted to around 12.5 million euros. Nevertheless, the Pflüglers maintained their courage and perseverance, which was appreciated not least by Stefan Hörmann, the managing director of the Bavarian Farmers' Association.
The first construction work began on February 22, 2022, and the family moved to the new farm at the end of 2024. Now visitors can discover the many facets of farm life in the new multifunctional building, which houses, among other things, a hall, a kitchen, a seminar room and apartments for students. “We are pleased that we were able to create this meeting place,” says Carolin Pflügler.
Direct marketing as the key to the future
The Pflüglerhof is not only a place of production, but also a beacon for direct marketing. In an environment where more and more people value origin and quality, farm shops are becoming increasingly important. According to landwirtschaft.de, direct marketing not only enables farmers to have a stronger market position, but also a direct exchange with consumers. More and more companies are therefore relying on their own farm shops, weekly markets or even subscription boxes where regional products are delivered directly to your front door.
In this context, the Pflüglers' adventurous spirit shows how important it is to pursue innovative approaches in agriculture and to actively involve consumers. In addition to marketing its own products, the company also relies on cooperation with neighboring producers in order to strengthen its market position.
During the farm festival, visitors were able to not only tour the brewery and the kitchen, but also gain an insight into how chickens are kept. The products produced should not only cover our own needs, but also contribute to supplying the region. The Pflüglerhof not only plays a pioneering role in agriculture, but is also an example of how tradition and innovation can be excellently combined.
