Theater magic in Brunnenreuth: children's group celebrates 20 years full of imagination!

The Brunnenreuth theater rascals are turning 20 this year! The small but fine theater group belongs to the Brunnenreuth Volunteer Fire Department and has written a colorful history in two decades. Originally started as part of the festive context of Christmas parties and strong beer festivals, the group has now developed into a sought-after part of cultural life in the region. Around 35 members aged 5 to 18 are now actively involved in livening up the stages and inspiring the audience, reports donaukurier.de.

The management of the Theaterrasselbande has experienced hands in Christina Netter and Karin Lehrer, who lead the rehearsals once or twice a week, especially from the beginning of the year. The regular performances in the Dorfstadel Brunnenreuth are the highlight of the year, especially the performances in spring and summer. This year the stage will also be used for the play “A Fairytale Time Machine”, in which a group of girls immerse themselves in the magical fairytale world through a strangely constructed time machine.

An exciting program

The upcoming performances will take place on July 12th, 13th, 19th and 20th - a must for every child and every theater lover! Tickets cost just 6 euros and are available in advance on June 28th and 29th. Admission is one hour before each performance. It's going to be exciting because the theater group has already put on several large productions since 2019, such as "The Little Lying Witch" and "The School of Magical Animals - Ashanti is Gone".

But it's not just the theater that's important, coexistence is also very important. In addition to the performances, the children take part in cinema evenings, visit other youth theater groups and experience overnight stays in the village barn. It's the mix of theater, friendship and fun that makes being part of the Theaterrasrassebande so special.

Commitment to theater

The SCHOTTE children's and youth theater in Erfurt has a completely different concept, which is aimed at children aged 10 and over and young people up to 27 years old dieschotte.de reported. The focus here is on the development of the young players and the creative engagement with theater. With around 300 members and 250 active players, SCHOTTE has a high status in amateur theater and also provides support for school theater.

Through continuous and varied work with experienced theater educators, the theater not only promotes artistic standards, but also values such as responsibility, commitment and reliability. This is also reflected in the awarding of renowned prizes, including the Thuringian Culture Prize and the German Amateur Theater Prize.

Whether in Brunnenreuth or Erfurt, it is clear: the commitments of children's and youth theaters are an important building block for cultural education and a great opportunity for young talents to live out their passion for theater. We can all look forward to that!
