Free voters nominate Stefan Bosse as the new mayor candidate for Kaufbeuren!
On November 4th, 2025 it became official: The Free Voters of Kaufbeuren unanimously nominated Stefan Bosse as mayor candidate for the local elections in March 2026. The nomination meeting took place at the Gasthof Engel Oberbeuren, where 30 voters present cast their votes, thereby sending a clear signal.
A joint election proposal with the CSU was also decided. The speakers' greetings made it clear how important cooperation between different political movements is, especially in times of crisis, in order to achieve the best for the city of Kaufbeuren. Bernhard Pohl, the chairman of the Free Voters and member of the state parliament, emphasized that the tensions between the CSU and the Free Voters, which had existed in the city council since they took part in the government, have decreased significantly.
Stefan Bosse's visions
Stefan Bosse, who has been mayor of Kaufbeuren since November 1, 2004, took the opportunity to address both what has been achieved and the challenges ahead in his introductory speech. He emphasized the need for networks and connections that are necessary to lead Kaufbeuren successfully into the future. This strategy is particularly important in a city that is constantly facing new challenges.
Bernd Stapfner, the district administrator candidate of the Free Voters OAL, also didn't miss the opportunity to congratulate Stefan Bosse after his election as mayor candidate. This visible unity within the party and the positive response to Bosse's nomination appear to have set the course for a successful election.
