New coach, new goals: SVO Germaringen starts in the district league!
The new season in the District League South begins next weekend and all eyes are on SVO Germaringen. On Sunday at 3 p.m. the team will play away against SV Egg a.d. Günz, a start that promises both excitement and challenges. trainer Thomas Prestele has invested a lot since taking over seven weeks ago to prepare the team as best as possible for the new season. A clear change is emerging: Prestele is striving for a more active and flexible playing style.
“We are aiming for a different style of play,” explains Prestele. “The team is ready to learn and we want to finish this season significantly better than the last one, in which we finished in a solid eighth place.” The trainer sees the whole project in the long term and wants to initiate continuous development. There were challenges during the preparation, which experienced both positive and negative phases. Nevertheless, Prestele is optimistic: “The league has quality, even if it is new territory for me.”
The squad and new faces
The SVO Germaringen squad has changed slightly compared to last season. The experienced players Patrick Gebler and Peter Wahmhoff have hung up their football boots, while promotion goalkeeper Maximilian Baumann has moved to FC Penzing. There are fresh faces: The young players Luca Katzer and Paul Brugger were integrated into the team, as were Dennis Kohl from SV Stöttwang and Daniel Osowski from the Kaufbeuren game association. However, the team also has to do without some long-term injured players such as Dominik Treischl, Fabian Müller and Fabian Schauer.
In addition to the personnel changes, SVO Germaringen has prepared intensively for the upcoming season. The first home game against TSV Dinkelscherben will take place on July 30th, for which a fan bus will be organized. The goal is clear: start the season well and collect points, especially in view of the new competitors from the league, who bring even more quality into the game through promoted and relegated teams such as Babenhausen and Mering.
Preparation and start of the season
To ensure optimal preparation, the club has implemented a five-week program that includes content for each training day. The focus here is on the fitness and technical-tactical aspects, especially in opening the game through the back four and building up the game through the central midfield. This training content is essential to get the players into the new season well and to implement the desired style DFB trainer magazine emphasized.
The encounters against SV Egg have often been less than successful in the past, but Prestele sees this as the motivation to give everything. With a motivated team and a clear plan, SVO Germaringen could finally turn things around this season and perhaps even set their sights on the top half of the table.
