A very special event is expected in Kaufbeuren on Sunday, October 12, 2025: the rustic market. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the old town is transformed into a thriving center for handicrafts and culinary delights. Organizer Kaufbeuren Tourism and City Marketing has put together a varied range that has a lot to offer visitors. Around 40 artisans, restaurateurs and direct marketers present their handmade products and invite you to browse.

The variety of materials is impressive: wood, felt, ceramics and paper are created beautiful things that make the heart of every handicraft fan beat faster. But the focus is not only on handicrafts, regional and seasonal products are not neglected. Spreads, bread specialties, cheese tiles and fresh herbal mixtures are waiting to be tasted.

Delicacies and children's pleasure

The culinary delights are also provided. Guests can look forward to culinary delights such as bratwurst, Langos, tree cake, chocolate fruits and various almond variations. The small festival visitors are also not neglected: from 1 p.m. there will be an exciting children's program with a children's railway, a balloon artist and face painting, which is guaranteed to ensure bright faces.

During the market day, retailers in the old town also open their doors to Sunday open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. This is an excellent opportunity to support local shops and maybe get one or two bargains.

Additional attractions

A special highlight on this day are the "Summer Streets" that bring additional life to the old town. The harbor market is blocked to make room for a “delicacle garden”, live music and a classic car exhibition. This creates a mood and a great atmosphere in which you can put your feet up and enjoy the hustle and bustle.

In order to ensure the safety of visitors, Kaiser-Max-Straße will be closed to traffic on October 12 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The creative hustle and bustle of the artisans and the festive atmosphere should be able to take their course so undisturbed.
