Rustic market in Kaufbeuren: culinary and creative highlights!

A very special event is expected in Kaufbeuren on Sunday, October 12, 2025: the rustic market. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the old town is transformed into a thriving center for handicrafts and culinary delights. Organizer Kaufbeuren Tourism and City Marketing has put together a varied range that has a lot to offer visitors. Around 40 artisans, restaurateurs and direct marketers present their handmade products and invite you to browse.

The variety of materials is impressive: beautiful things are created from wood, felt, ceramics and paper that make the heart of every craft fan beat faster. But the focus is not only on handicrafts; regional and seasonal products are also not neglected. Spreads, bread specialties, cheese delicacies and fresh herb mixtures are waiting to be tasted.

Treats and children's fun

Culinary delights are also taken care of. Guests can look forward to delicacies such as bratwurst, langos, Baumkuchen, chocolate fruits and various almond variations. The little festival visitors don't miss out either: from 1 p.m. there is an exciting children's program with a children's railway, a balloon artist and face painting, which is guaranteed to make faces smile.

During the market day, the retailers in the old town also open their doors for Sunday shopping from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. This is an excellent opportunity to support local businesses and maybe pick up a bargain or two.

Additional attractions

A special highlight of this day are the “Summer Streets”, which bring additional life to the old town. The harbor market will be closed to make room for a “delicacy garden”, live music and a vintage car exhibition. This creates a good atmosphere and a great atmosphere in which you can put your feet up and enjoy the goings-on.

To ensure the safety of visitors, Kaiser-Max-Straße will be closed to traffic on October 12th from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The creative activity of the artisans and the festive atmosphere should be able to continue undisturbed.
