On July 5, 2025, around 3:20 p.m., a serious traffic accident occurred on the district road KEH15 in the municipality of Kelheim. A 64-year-old man from the Kelheim district was driving a tractor with a loaded log wagon when an unfortunate incident occurred. The boom of the timber loading crane was simply set too high, which resulted in the tractor trailer getting stuck on a bridge to KEH38.

As a result, the trailer tipped over to the right and the loaded logs fell onto the guardrail. Fortunately, the driver remained unharmed, but the damage to the vehicle and the guard rail totaled 12,000 euros. Fortunately, the bridge itself remained undamaged. The fire brigades from Kelheim and Kelheimwinzer were quickly on site to support the rescue and cleaning measures. The responsible person in charge of the road construction agency was also present to mark the accident site accordingly after the rescue work had been completed.
