Advent concerts in Kitzingen: Misses enchant the Old Synagogue!
The pre-Christmas season has also arrived in Kitzingen, and the Alte Synagogue cultural and educational center is ready to inspire with a colorful program. The facility, which opened as an event location in 1993 after extensive renovation, has now made a name for itself as an important meeting place for cultural and educational offerings. Its historical background as a former place of worship gives the comprehensive events a special touch. From concerts to readings to cabaret performances – there is a lot on offer here in the run-up to Christmas.
On Saturday, December 6th, the group “Die Fräuleins” from Kitzingen will open the festive events with their program “It’s Christmas”. The artists Anja Gutgesell, Edeltraud Rupek and Marion Neuendorf, accompanied by pianist Jeremy Atkin, will enchant visitors with Christmas music from the 1920s to 1940s. The concert starts at 8 p.m. in the Old Synagogue, and tickets are available both at the Kitzingen Tourist Information Office and online, and there is also a box office.
A place for cultural encounters
The Old Synagogue is more than just an event space; it offers a platform for many different cultural events and is also open to external rentals if the schedule allows. In addition to concerts, lectures, theater performances and educational events at the adult education center are also offered here. Thanks to modern technical equipment, multi-visions and film screenings can even take place. Anyone interested in the current program can find an overview of events on the city of Kitzingen's website and can purchase tickets via various channels, including the online portal and, in the traditional way, at the box office.
Experience cultural diversity
As part of the cultural program of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, not only Jewish culture becomes visible, but also the diversity that it brings with it. The focus is on promoting Jewish artists and engaging with Judaism. Both Jewish and non-Jewish audiences can enjoy concerts, plays and exhibitions that deal with relevant topics and illuminate the cultural and historical aspects of Judaism. The exchange between communities is strengthened and interest in Jewish culture experiences a strong boost through these programs. Offers that go beyond Klezmer are particularly in demand and enrich cultural life in our region.
Whether in the context of Advent or at the various other events – the Old Synagogue is a place where culture comes to life. Stop by and let yourself be carried away by this special flair!
