Choir festival in Germering: Two days of music to sing along to and be amazed at!

On July 19th and 20th, 2025, a musical spectacle awaits us in the Germering town hall: The “Choral Action Days” invite all music enthusiasts and curious people to sing together and experience the diversity of choral singing. The event, which is organized by the Fürstenfeldbruck Singers' Circle, the Ammersee-Amper Singers' Circle and the Landsberg am Lech Choir Association, offers a colorful program to promote communal singing and the recruitment of new singers. Entry is free for participants and registration is not required, which makes access to this unique event particularly easy. As merkur.de reports, the program is broad: from 17 different workshops to choir concerts to an open stage format and a sheet music exhibition.

What can visitors expect? Men, women, young people aged 12 and over as well as children can get active in the workshops by experienced lecturers such as pianist and composer Stefan Delanoff and musical actress Hanni Bogner. The topics range from choreographic breathing to voice training and improvisation to canon singing. In addition, a special “association update” is offered for choir boards, which includes information on copyright, grant applications and sponsorship. The launch of a new musical choir specifically for young adults is particularly pleasing.

A place of community

Choral singing has the power to create community and emotional connections, as emphasized by interkultur.com. Singing in a choir not only creates a platform for expressing one's identity, but also helps preserve cultural heritage and traditions. Especially today, choral singing plays a crucial role in promoting national pride and identity. Through music together, choirs create a strong sense of cohesion, which is urgently needed in society.

The “Chor Action Days” will also be enriched by a variety of performances by local choirs, including the GröbenTöne, the Gröbenzell women’s choir and the gospel and pop choir AllSing from Alling. These diverse groups demonstrate the diversity and richness of choral music in the region.

Honor for Eduard Huber

In preparation for the event, it is important to remember personalities who have shaped the choir scene. On June 7, 2024, a funeral service took place in the St. Jakob Church in Germering for Eduard Huber, who died on May 30, 2024. He was active in choral singing for almost 70 years and played a key role in the work of the Ammersee-Amper Singing Circle. His commitment not only supported the training of singers, but also numerous joint concerts and trips. This spiritual connection to the roots of choral singing is kept alive through the “Choral Action Days”, which are also a homage to such great personalities.

The team at the singing circles have shown a good hand in creating an event that attracts both existing choir members and new interested parties. If it goes well, there will certainly be a repeat event next year - a step that could further strengthen the flourishing choir scene.
