Against violence against women: information evening in Landsberg on November 25th!

In the beautiful town of Landsberg am Lech, the signs are already pointing to exchange and education. An information evening on the International Day against Violence against Women will take place on November 25, 2025, and the initiators cordially invite you to attend. The event is organized by the city of Landsberg am Lech, the Inner Wheel Club Ammersee and the Initiativkreis Frauenhaus Landsberg e.V. The target group is primarily young women and girls who are intended to be made aware of the topics.

The event begins at 4:30 p.m. with an information stand at Klostereck. Starting at 6:30 p.m., Nina Fuchs will speak about her personal experiences with sexual violence and the challenges those affected face in seeking justice. Her lecture entitled “No Victim – A Voice Against Silence” also addresses the social taboos and legal hurdles that often stand in the way of women. Fuchs is supported by the artist Monica Calla, who opens the evening with an artistic contribution.

A space for exchange and artistic activities

A special highlight of the evening is the accompanying artistic campaign “AT TENT ION – Creating a Protective Space” by Stephanie Kaltenecker. Pink bins with hurtful sayings are placed in the anteroom of the Lech sports hall. This interactive installation is intended to create space for reflection and exchange. After the contributions, those present have the opportunity to ask Nina Fuchs questions and talk to each other.

The International Day Against Violence Against Women has its origins in the memory of the murder of the Mirabal sisters in 1960 in the Dominican Republic. In 1999, the UN officially declared this day the International Day against Violence against Women. The event shows us how important it is to address violence in all its forms and to talk about it openly. The term “violence” has its roots in Middle High German and describes not only physical violence, but also power and control over others.

The initiative, which is supported by the Inner Wheel Club Ammersee and the Initiativkreis Frauenhaus Landsberg e.V., aims to improve protection against violence for women and children. The ethical basis of the efforts is the Istanbul Convention, which also plays an important role in Germany. Admission to this important evening is free and registration is not required. Anyone interested is welcome!

In summary, it can be said that this event is not only a highlight in the year's event calendar, but also sends an important signal against violence against women. Active and open cooperation is essential in order to create greater sensitivity to these topics.
