On Friday, November 28, 2025, an impressive honorary event took place in the Karbach multi-purpose hall 73 committed women and men from the Main-Spessart district were honored for their many years of voluntary work. District Administrator Sabine Sitter used the opportunity to emphasize the essential importance of volunteering for the community and to express her thanks to those honored.

During the course of the evening, the participants received certificates and merit badges in various categories. The conditions of the competition were clear: bronze meant at least 20 years, silver stood for 25 years and gold recognized 40 years of volunteer work. These awards are not only recognition, but also a sign of respect and appreciation for tireless commitment to serving the community.

Volunteering in Main-Spessart

The event was skillfully led by the moderators Monika Guttendörfer and Julius Mayer and offered those present a musical accompaniment by Christian Dunst and Annika Ramsauer. A special artistic performance by Moritz Haase on the vertical cloth gave the evening an additional touch.

Many of those honored come from various organizations, clubs and initiatives. A look at the silver and gold award winners shows the breadth of voluntary activities in the region. The evening concluded with a cozy get-together with delicacies from the kitchen of the Main-Spessart Clinic. Many people present take the opportunity to exchange ideas and make new acquaintances.
