Celebratory review: 50 years of Retzstadt Senior Citizens' Circle in pictures
In Retzstadt, the senior citizen group recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. The senior citizen group took this anniversary celebration as an opportunity to honor the founders and deceased members in a thanksgiving service. The founding of the circle, which was brought to life five decades ago by Pastor Anton Stenger and the then chairman of the parish council, Heinz Erbshäuser, has since developed into an important institution for the older generation in the community, such as mainpost.de reported.
The celebrations took place in the parish hall and offered those present the opportunity to reminisce. Leonhard Rauff, the head of the seniors' group, warmly welcomed the guests. Over coffee and cake we chatted about times gone by and there was a musical contribution from Bernhard Schmitt, who created a good atmosphere with his accordion. These moments made the meeting an unforgettable experience.
A celebration for the community
Around 65 guests took part in the anniversary celebration and were enthusiastic about the atmosphere. The guests of honor included Mayor Karl Gerhard and pastoral officer Barbara Stockmann, as well as representatives of local initiatives such as the “Frohen Runde” Retzbach and the Diocese of Würzburg. A shared dinner consisting of roast meat, dumplings and red cabbage rounded off the event. A special highlight was the exhibition, which presented photos of excursions, activities and celebrations.
With this celebration, the senior citizens' group not only honored the founders' commitment, but also showed how important social contacts are in old age. It is such gatherings that strengthen the sense of community and help seniors to actively participate in social life.
