Lower Franconia honors integration talents – 2025 winners honored!
The integrative spirit of Lower Franconia is flourishing! On October 25, 2025, the integration prizes were awarded in the large meeting room of the government of Lower Franconia. This prize is being offered for the 18th time to honor outstanding voluntary and sustainable integration projects for people with a migration background. From a total of 35 submitted projects, a jury led by District President Dr. Susanne Weizendörfer selected and announced the winners.
For the first time, the prizes go to the Naturpark Spessart e.V. for their commitment in the area of “refugees in nature and species protection”, which was awarded 2,500 euros. The association “We for Aschaffenburg e.V.” took second place. with their project “With cooperation and respect for successful integration” and received 2,000 euros. Third place and 1,000 euros went to the Haßfurt multi-generation house for the “FamilienKUNSTbande”. A special prize of 500 euros went to the “Hilferkreis Migration Lohr und Umland” of the Caritas Association for the Main-Spessart district e.V. This award is not only intended to show recognition, but also to promote creative approaches to integration, reports mainfranken.news.

This initiative is no coincidence; The prize money totaling 6,000 euros was made available by the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, Sport and Integration and is part of a broader strategy to support integration projects. Among other things, European funding in the form of AMIF and other social integration programs is also important for projects in the areas of asylum, return and integration. These funds help to find creative and sustainable approaches to integrate migrants into society. The bpb emphasizes that these funds are awarded by the EU via the federal states and can therefore also specifically support local projects.
A variety of initiatives in Lower Franconia show how important it is to build bridges and promote mutual understanding. Individuals, municipalities and organizations can apply for the prize in order to initiate further integration projects in the future. The next application deadline is June 16, 2025, so there is enough time for interested parties to submit their ideas and thus make a contribution to integration in Lower Franconia the government of Lower Franconia explained on their site.
