Sustained investigations
The police are currently carrying out extensive investigations, including the citizens of the area in a large-scale survey of local residents. Markus Dinzinger, deputy head of the Miesbach criminal police, confirmed in a security meeting with the mayors that the investigations are running at full speed. Fire investigators from the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) are supporting the team, while sniffer dogs are also being used to identify possible accelerants and escape directions.
There was just recently a fire in Hundham-Ahrain that affected a barn. The cause of the fire remained unclear at the time, which could potentially provide a connection to the current fires. Bavaria Police does not rule out this and also refers to other fires in the region, such as the incidents in Freigut or the Daxen fire in Geitau.
