Woman seriously injured in accident in Großhartpenning – witnesses wanted!
On July 15, 2025, an accident occurred on the B13 in Großhartpenning, Miesbach district, which once again brought the safety situation for pedestrians into discussion. At 8:14 a.m., a 54-year-old woman from Bad Tölz fell after stumbling over the doorstep while leaving a bakery. At that moment, an Audi A4, driven by a 38-year-old woman from the Valley, drove past. The collision resulted in the pedestrian hitting the passenger side of the vehicle and being thrown back onto the sidewalk. She suffered a heavily bleeding head injury.
The emergency services that were alerted included the Hartpenning volunteer fire department and the rescue service with an ambulance, an emergency doctor and a rescue helicopter, which were quickly on the scene. After initial medical treatment, the injured person was taken to a Munich hospital. Fortunately, according to initial findings, there was no damage to the Audi. However, while the accident was being recorded, there were traffic disruptions on the B13, which were regulated by the fire department.
Current traffic accident statistics
Manfred Wirsch, President of the DPR, called for increased measures to protect pedestrians, pointing out that their number of deaths and injuries has increased in the last three years. A forward-looking pedestrian traffic strategy from the federal government stipulates, among other things, that municipalities can set up zebra crossings without proof of a particular risk situation. In addition, 30 km/h zones should be arranged more easily at playgrounds and busy routes to school.
Importance of statistics for road safety
The road traffic accident statistics from the Federal Statistical Office provide important data that serve as a basis for legal measures, traffic education and infrastructural improvements. It not only records the accidents themselves, but also provides detailed information about the people involved in the accident, the causes of the accident and the vehicles involved. This information is essential for developing a sound transport policy and taking measures to improve road safety.
In summary, it should be noted that the safety of pedestrians should be a particular focus. It is essential that both road users and politicians actively work to ensure safe conditions so that incidents like the one in Großhartpenning become less frequent. The DPR has already proposed ten measures to increase road safety - a need that requires our attention not only today but also in the future.
