Anniversary celebration of the Eiersheim musicians inspires in Lauda!

On November 15, 2025, the Eiersheim Musicians celebrated a memorable anniversary celebration in the Lauda-Königshofen town hall to properly honor their 100th anniversary. From 6 p.m. until well after midnight, various musical performances provided the best entertainment. Among the highlights were the performances by the formations “Musikatzen” and “eine kleine dorfMusik”.

The “Musikatzen” offered an impressive repertoire that was characterized by a mix of marches, polkas, waltzes, rock, metal and film music. The mood in the hall was exuberant; the audience danced and celebrated to well-known classics such as “Bohemian Dream” and the rock hit “Highway to Hell”. It quickly became clear to the guests that there was a wide range of musical styles on offer here, which even surprised some people.

Tradition meets modernity

“A Little Village Music” from southern Burgenland brought the audience along to celebrate with traditional brass music in bricklayer’s trousers and boots. Their music addressed, among other things, church days, dance floors and the convivial Sunday joys of the region. Although the Eiersheim musicians played the role of host, they did not perform themselves, which created the opportunity for their guests to conquer the stage and keep the musical heritage alive.

“Music is of central importance for the community,” explained chairwoman Janina Rückert. When asked about the visitors' reactions, there was only positive feedback: "The performances and the diversity of the brass music were consistently praised," continued Rückert. Some guests also commented on the culinary delights served during the event - another aspect that contributed to the convivial atmosphere.

Beware of cyber threats

In another corner of the news world, an important topic has emerged that is particularly relevant to older people. A new phishing campaign aims to trick AOL users into revealing their login details. The emails currently circulating warn recipients that if they do not log in within 72 hours, their account will soon be closed. This is particularly concerning because many older people continue to use AOL and are accustomed to the service, making them more vulnerable to such scams. Luckily, one affected family didn't get duped because they were aware of phishing scams.

The experts recommend being particularly careful and changing passwords regularly. Anyone who has accepted the fraudulent email should contact AOL support immediately and check the security measures on other accounts. For users who use the same credentials for multiple services, it is highly recommended to change their passwords everywhere and use a password manager to securely manage their data. Cyberattacks are common and can cause significant damage, but with the right information and tools you can protect yourself effectively. BleepingComputer highlights the urgency of these measures, while Bytesnipers tells us Instructive examples from the past are presented to underline the importance of IT security.

The solemnity of the Eiersheim musicians and the warnings of cyber attacks are a strange contrast, but they both show how important community and vigilance are in everyday life. If music brings people together, we should also make sure we find our way in the digital world.
