Garching celebrates: Bürgerwoche and street festival promise highlights!

GARCHING is all about the celebrations in July 2024. The city organizes a large folk festival in the community park, which takes place from July 3 to 7, followed by a colorful street festival that takes place from July 11th to 13th. The new landlord this year is Sebastian Mayerhofer from the Almrausch marquee and he brings a few delicacies from Bavarian cuisine. The Munich-Nord Gauschützen-Verband celebrates its 100th anniversary with a parade on July 6, which starts at 12:30 p.m. On Sunday, July 7th, the big parade of the clubs will take place at 12 noon, where Garching presents its colorful club landscape.

Another highlight is the newly founded band "Bälamys XXL" by the Garching fire brigade, which will appear on Friday evening at 6 p.m. The dew wind competition, in which the home club took first place in the previous year, ensures additional thrills and is absolutely burning to defend the title.

music lovers can look forward to the recently celebrated band Cagey Strings, which offers a mixture of classic rock ’n 'roll of the fifties, own songs, oldies and party hits from all decades. The band has been part of the Munich Oktoberfest Festival since 1996 and is regularly hired for the Bürgerwoche in Garching.
