Munich celebrates diversity: CSD 2025 inspires with a big political parade!

On June 28, 2025, Christopher Street Day (CSD) took place in Munich, a colorful spectacle and the highlight of Pride Month 2025. The event attracted a large number of participants made up of the queer community and their supporters.

The main goals of this celebration were clear: an impressive demonstration against queer hostility and a strong plea for diversity and love. The event, which has been an integral part of Munich's event calendar for years, not only called for joy, but also highlighted pressing social issues. [az-online] reports that the number of participants was significant, underlining the importance of the event.

A colorful program for everyone

The CSD offered a diverse program throughout the city. With various events and attractions there was something for everyone. The parade itself, an impressive procession of over 3.5 kilometers, started at Mariahilfplatz and ended on Ludwigstrasse. The renowned mayor Dieter Reiter had the honor of leading the procession.

The motto of this year's parade “Liberté, Diversité, Queerité” sent a clear signal for tolerance and equality. An impressive 200 groups took part, including queer initiatives, social institutions and even international companies. There was also no shortage of creative and committed foot groups, such as the lesbian motorcycle group “Dykes on Bikes”, which traditionally led the parade. [muenchen.de] highlights that the parade is the largest of its kind in southern Germany.

Diversity needs visibility

The themes of the Pride parade were very well received by the participants. Visibility for lesbian, trans*, non-binary and queer people was high on the agenda. Photographers Mark Kamin, Kornelija Rade and others captured these important moments. On the website [csdmuenchen], those interested can browse through the various galleries, which are organized by location and topic.

There were also numerous information stands and a main stage at Marienplatz, which attracted participants. A live stream also enabled those who couldn't be there to experience the energetic atmosphere. The PartyArea and the street festival revitalized the city and created space for communal celebration.

The organizers would like to thank the many volunteers and supporters who contributed to the success of this special day. Anyone who is discovered in the photos and does not want to be published can send an email to info@csdmuenchen.de to have the image deleted, according to an important message from the CSD website.

Overall, the CSD 2025 in Munich was not only a celebration of love and diversity, but also a strong voice for justice and equality that echoed in the streets of the city.
