Exciting automobile slalom action: Yannick Dollmann wins in Nuremberg!
On June 21, 2025, the second race of the ACV SE Slalom Beginner Cup in the South Region took place at the Volksfestplatz in Nuremberg, very close to the Norisring. Organized by the ACV Ortsclub Nuremberg, over 24 drivers were able to demonstrate their skills in summer temperatures of up to 30 degrees. The event was very popular, not least thanks to the well-trained marshals who ensured everything ran smoothly. Andreas Pfister, the ACV's head of sport, emphasized the increasing number of participants and the increased interest in this sport, which is suitable for both beginners and experienced drivers, as participation with series vehicles is possible. Information about this can also be found on the [DMSB] website (https://www.dmsb.de/de/automobilsport/slalom).
The focus of the event was the automobile slalom, a discipline that takes place on a flat and paved track. Here the participants have to move their vehicles through a course marked out with pylons without avoiding obstacles. This happens in the individual time trial, which brings additional thrills. Due to its simple requirements, automobile slalom is ideal for beginners who want to further develop their driving skills and who can expect short travel distances. Over 100 events take place throughout Germany every year, including the nationwide German Racing Slalom Championship.
Top talent from the region
The performance of Yannick Dollmann, who took first place in the rookie age group (18-23 years), was particularly pleasing. The young driver, who competes for ACV OC Würzburg, is an up-and-coming talent in slalom sports. Nico Gul from MSC Göge and Lars Hufnagel from ACV OC Aschaffenburg followed in second and third place. In the beginners category for 15 to 18 year olds, Fabian Klawonn also secured first place, ahead of his club colleagues Jakub Scholz and Lennox Dawid, both of whom compete for ACV OC Würzburg.
Plans for the future
The next race will take place on June 28, 2025 at the Autohof Wilnsdorf, organized by OC Lahnstein. Another exciting event for the southern region will follow on July 12th in Hohentengen, organized by MSC Göge. These events not only offer the chance to prove yourself in slalom, but also the opportunity to experience the joy of motorsport in a community.
In conclusion, it can be said that enthusiasm for the automobile slalom is constantly growing in the region. The combination of challenging sport and community makes the events a tremendous experience for everyone involved. The organizers and participants are looking forward to the upcoming competitions, which promise new exciting stories and results.
