Bavaria in winter fever: massive cold wave and snowfall are threatening!

November 2025 will bring mixed weather conditions for Bavaria. At first the weather in the region appears friendly and mild, but soon the wind changes and the temperatures drop noticeably. The German Weather Service (DWD) warns of frosty nights and wintry conditions in some parts of the Free State. A maximum of 2 to 8 degrees is forecast for Friday, November 7th, while values of up to 14 degrees can be reached in the sun. On Saturday, November 8th, however, people will have to prepare for daily highs of just 2 to 8 degrees, while the nights will remain frosty and cool, especially in the eastern low mountain ranges and near the Alps.

The weather forecast remains changeable for the coming days. After cloudy days, Sunday brings maximum temperatures between 5 and 11 degrees as well as rain, especially in the evening hours. The DWD announces a change in the weather, which also predicts a massive influx of cold air in the coming weeks. From November 17th, temperatures at an altitude of 1,500 meters are expected to drop to -10 degrees. Frosty temperatures down to -6 degrees are also expected in parts of Bavaria on November 21st. While some weather models, such as the ECMWF, predict snowfall in large parts of Bavaria, the forecast for eastern Germany remains more cautious.

Frost and slippery conditions in sight

Especially at the weekend there will be local frost and possibly slippery conditions in the higher elevations of the eastern low mountain ranges. The DWD forecast for Sunday predicts thickening fog, which could limit visibility, especially at night. It is recommended to be careful when driving at night, as low temperatures and possible icy roads can also be expected in higher plains.

Looking ahead to the coming days

Things are not going to be very positive in the near future. Monday will continue to bring cloudy weather, accompanied by light rain and temperatures that will not go above 11 degrees. All of this is accompanied by a gentle wind. Fog can form at night, while temperatures range from 4 to 0 degrees and can even drop to -2 degrees in regions such as the Bavarian Forest.

The forecast points to a significant cooling. The developments remain exciting in this unsettled and wintry weather. It remains to be seen whether there will actually be snow in the near future. The DWD forecasts indicate that we can expect a fairly accurate picture of consistent weather conditions in the coming days.
