Wrestling fever in Passau: Luce Corde ready for the big performance!
On July 12th the time has come: The Erding Wrestling Show (EWS) in Passau attracts numerous wrestling fans to the x-Point Hall. A special highlight of the event will be the up-and-coming wrestler Lukas Kannamüller, known as “Luce Corde”. The 19-year-old can look back on an exciting career that began a few years ago with a trial training session after he found his passion for wrestling through television, particularly WWE. In an interview, he reports that the atmosphere in the halls and the passionate reactions of the audience are particularly motivating for him. “It's a mixture of sport and entertainment,” says Kannamüller, describing his fascination for the art of wrestling.
The training is demanding: Fall school includes the ability to roll safely and spectacularly in order to prevent injuries. According to the young wrestler, depending on your ambition and talent, your first fight requires around two to three years of intensive training. Preparations are in full swing as the less experienced fighters look forward to the EWS and take their next step into the exciting world of wrestling.
Wrestling as an art form
Wrestling is more than just a sport these days - the industry has evolved into a colorful mix of athletics, storytelling and theater. The shift from a purely athletic competition to a form of sports entertainment shows how diverse wrestling has become. In its early days, the focus was on real competition and strength, but with the integration of storytelling and theatrical elements, especially through promotions like WWE, wrestling has become a story-based experience. This change is also made by Owen Thrives which highlights the evolution of wrestling and the debates surrounding the various facets of the industry.
“The line between real wrestling and sports entertainment is becoming increasingly blurred,” said the young fighter. The Internet and social media have redefined access to wrestling, giving fans the opportunity to consume interactive content and information. This has created a vibrant, independent wrestling scene that sees itself as a counterpoint to the dominance of the WWE.
