On June 16, 2025, the “GUD Hohenwarth e.V. – Community in the Lower Village” went on its annual trip to the beautiful Lower Bavarian museum village of Tittling. Over 40 members and friends of the community came together early in the morning to set off towards Tittling with bus driver Gerhard. The atmosphere was great and there was a happy gathering along the way.
After a short snack and coffee break in the parking lot at the museum village, the participants were ready to immerse themselves in a fascinating journey through time.
Insights into the museum village of Tittling
The Bavarian Forest Museum Village is a real treasure trove for history buffs. Located directly on Lake Dreiburgen, it includes over 140 historic buildings that were built between 1580 and 1850. These include old farms, mills, sawmills and chapels that have been restored and furnished true to the original.
A highlight of the museum is the Rottauer Mühle, where a local history museum was opened in 1974 and which preserved numerous other buildings in the following decades. The museum village serves as a valuable testimony to bygone times and also gives future generations a feeling for life and work in earlier eras.
Visitors can look forward to various themed exhibitions, carts, craft demonstrations and numerous historical used items. In this way, the past comes alive and can be experienced vividly.

The museum's entrance and parking lot are easily accessible, and group tours can be booked by calling 08504/404-61. Opening hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily from April to the end of October; in winter, visitors can take walks from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There are also numerous leisure activities in the area surrounding the museum, such as a tour around Lake Dreiburgensee or visits to the western town of Pullman City in Eging. This is a wonderful place to end the day.
