There's something going on again in Pfaffenhofen! The new series of “Hallertauer” regional money has seen the light of day. The colorful notes are now in circulation, with a remarkable variety of art. This 21st edition shows eight creative motifs by artists, all of which have a connection to Pfaffenhofen. The official celebrations begin with an opening on Friday, October 17th at 7:30 p.m. in the “House of Encounter”. The exhibition is open until November 16th and gives visitors the opportunity to admire the unique designs, which consist of paintings, drawings, graphics and object art. Pfaffenhofen Today reports on the impressive artists involved in this project.

The exhibition shows, among others, works by Sabine Ackstaller, who inspires with her figures and joyful moments, and Iryna Fedorenko, who presented her paintings at the Venice Biennale in 2022. Miodrag Pešić is also represented, his poetic surrealism captivates the viewer. Natalie Ponsot, who works as a VHS lecturer, inspires with her paintings and objects. Sebastian Schwamm, known for his folk festival motif from 2023, as well as Alfred Ullrich and Matthias Wurm, both of whom shine with prints and objects, round off the art ensemble. In memory of Herbert Klee, who died in 2023, his paintings and caricatures will be honored posthumously.

Vernissage and exhibition

The opening of the vernissage will be led by Manfred “Mensch” Mayer, chairman of the “Hallertauer Regional” association, and Hellmuth Inderwies, while Reinhard Haiplik, the cultural speaker, warmly welcomes the guests. The exhibition will attract not only art fans, but also those interested in the local economy and promoting sustainable projects.

The “Hallertauer” currency has had a lot of impact in this country. Since its launch, over 500,000 notes have been created. Each “Hallertauer” circulates on average three times, which means more than 1.5 million issues in Pfaffenhofen. This initiative not only brings fresh money into the region, but also supports charitable projects. Every time you exchange euros for “Hallertauer”, 3% funding is generated, which benefits various organizations and projects, including the Federal Nature Conservation Association, youth departments of local clubs as well as the Pfaffenhofen Youth Parliament and many more. Last year, the exchange raised a total of 1,000 euros, which was topped up with money from the voter group “Together for the Common Good”.

Where can you get the “Hallertauer”?
