SV Ilmmünster: Championship revolution and fair play gestures inspire!
There is great rejoicing in Ilmmünster: The SV Ilmmünster secured the championship title in A-Class 4 Donau/Isar with an impressive performance. The players scored a sensational 70 points in 26 games. They scored a total of 115 goals and only had to admit defeat in two games - against SV Fahlenbach and VfB Pörnbach. Another draw against TSV Rohrbach II was the only further setback in an otherwise outstanding season.
The championship season can be largely attributed to one player, Julian Catik. With 38 goals, he was crowned top scorer and was therefore a decisive factor in the fight for the top spot. But the other players also showed a strong performance, which made SV Ilmmünster the undisputed league leaders. Second in the table, TSV Rohrbach II, benefited from a strong second half of the season and secured promotion via relegation - after a disastrous start to the season with just one draw and only four goals conceded in the last few games.
Fair play is very important
SV Ilmmünster's fair play campaign, in which Julian Hoppe from SV Fahlenbach was supported after an injury, attracted particular attention. This gesture shows that football in Ilmmünster is not only characterized by sporting passion, but also by a high degree of fairness.
The importance of fairness and respect in football was also discussed in recently published reports by the German Football Association (DFB). The DFB In its 10th situation report on amateur football, it determined that there is still a need for action in the area of violence and discrimination. The FVM has already drawn up education and prevention measures with the aim of promoting the reporting of incidents and strengthening the idea of fair play.
A look at the league
Aside from the top places, there were also some disappointments: TSV Hohenwart II had to accept relegation to the B class with only 15 points, while FC Geisenfeld II was eliminated from the league early with just 8 points and only 21 goals. SpVgg Steinkirchen and FC Unterpindhart also fell short of expectations and finished poorly.
Overall, the league had an exciting season that offered both sporting highlights and emotional moments. Rohrbach's coach, Christoph Seiler, spoke of “goosebumps moments” in the second half of the season, while Wolnzach's coach, Karl Reisinger, particularly emphasized the emotional encounter with DJK Winden.
The next seasons are eagerly awaited, especially with regard to the measures announced to further promote fair play in football. After all, teams like SV Ilmmünster show that championships are not only won through goals, but also through mentorship and respect between players.
