Today the 16th Regensburg Regional Circuit was really fun! Around 2,900 runners gathered at the starting line on September 21, 2025 and created sporting enthusiasm in the region. After the 15th edition was a complete success last year with around 2,700 participants, the event has become a highlight in the running calendar in recent years. landkreis-regensburg.de reports a great atmosphere and the visit of international teams from China and Hungary.
The event, which covers a distance of around 70 kilometers, was contested by 286 relay teams with ten participants each. The participants competed in various categories: men's, women's and mixed relays as well as even ultra runners who completed the entire route individually. The 34 men and six women who decided to run the entire distance of around 70 km as ultra runners showed a real performance. The winners and highlights
The focus was particularly on the team rankings, which showed the performances of the various groups. In the men's relay, the PEPPEX SPORTS TEAM BOYS secured first place with an impressive time of 04:09:30.77. The women's relay was won by the ARMIN WOLF RUNNING TEAM WOMEN and made it to the finish in 05:11:33.17. In the mixed relay, the LAUF&BERG SPORT KÖNIG MIXED triumphed with a time of 04:32:23.34.
The entire event is not only considered a sporting highlight, but also a community event. Teams like “Rennsemmeln” and “Seitenstescher” not only bring sporting ambition, but also a portion of humor and a good mood. The next land circuit is scheduled for September 19, 2026, with Daniel Wedekind already announcing that he will be responsible for route planning for the last time this year.
