Current developments and variants

In the context of new virus variants, the WHO recently drew attention to the new COVID-19 variant called Nimbus (NB.1.8.1), which has been discovered since January 2025. Fortunately, there is so far no evidence of more severe disease progression, which can hopefully provide relief to the population.

At the national level, a look at COVID-19 statistics shows corona-in-zahlen.de that Germany has a total of 39,066,966 COVID-19 cases and 187,790 deaths. The 7-day incidence is 1.0 per 100,000 inhabitants, which means the situation appears stable overall.

Vaccinations and vaccination rates

The vaccination campaign shows loudly Statista also progress. A total of 188,244,457 vaccine doses have been administered as of April 8, 2023. Around 76.3% of the population has basic immunization, while 77.9% have received at least one vaccination. This is reflected in the high vaccination rates, which offer security to the population.

Interestingly, the figures show that 62.8% of the population has received a booster vaccination, further strengthening efforts to combat the pandemic.

In summary, it can be said that the COVID-19 numbers remain stable both in the Roth district and at the Bavarian and German levels and that a positive development can be seen thanks to targeted vaccination strategies and an optimistic assessment of the new variants. It remains to be hoped that this trend will continue and that the health of the population will continue to be the focus.
