Swastikas in Arnstorf: State security is investigating unknown people!
A worrying sign of vandalism has shaken the internet in Arnstorf and Lüdinghausen. Unknown people smeared swastikas and anti-constitutional symbols on various objects in both places. Such actions not only arouse disgust, but also raise questions about the background. The police are looking for witnesses and hope for information from the public.
In Arnstorf, which is in the Rottal-Inn district, swastikas were placed in several places between Thursday, June 26th and Saturday, June 27th. These include Wiesenstrasse, Drechslerstrasse, the Upper Castle and the Upper Market. The estimated material damage is around 1,500 euros. The State Security Commissariat of the Passau Criminal Police Department has begun investigations into the use of unconstitutional license plates, damage to property and trespassing. Witnesses are asked to contact the Eggenfelden police on 08721/96050 or the Passau criminal police on 0851/95110, [like the PNP reported](https://www.pnp.de/lokales/landkreis-rottal-inn/staatsschutz-ermittelt-unknown-schmieren-in-arnstorf- Hakenkreuze-an-gebaeude-und-fahrzeug-18962969).
Vandalism in Lüdinghausen
But this kind of graffiti isn't just found in Arnstorf. A similar incident also occurred in Lüdinghausen. Between Friday, June 27, 10:00 a.m. and Saturday, June 28, 10:34 a.m., unknown persons spray-painted blue swastikas on the fur of two ponies, as well as on a bench, a lantern, paving stones and trash cans. Luckily the ponies remained physically unharmed. The Münster Police State Security Office has taken over the investigation into political damage to property and is examining a possible political background or a targeted provocation. Here too, the police are asking for information from witnesses, which can be reported on 0251 275-0, [as MS Aktuell informs](https://ms-aktuell.de/aktuelles/ Hakenkreuze-auf-ponys-geschmiert-polizei-muenster-ermittelt-nach-vorfall-in-luedinghausen/).
The events in both cities are cause for concern and make it clear that such racist and discriminatory symbols should have no place in our society. An active civil society is needed to resolutely counter such incidents. Let's stand together against intolerance and hatred!
