Schwabach is trampling: Over 20,000 visitors to the traditional market!

Autumn is approaching and with it one of the biggest highlights in Schwabach: the Trempelmarkt! On Sunday, October 19, 2025, the popular event will take place in its 27th edition. Every year, numerous visitors are drawn to the city center of the historic city, which impresses with its charming half-timbered houses and where the Schwabach River gently babbles along. This time, over 20,000 guests are expected to haggle and browse and get a bargain or two. The event is organized by the Schwabach city and advertising community and with the active support of the THW. As nn.de reports, the dealers start setting up their stands at 11 a.m., while sales take place from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

There are 500 stand spaces available for market feeders. The Trempelzone extends along the central squares of the old town, including Kappadocia and Zöllnertorstraße up to Spitalberg. As the Meier Magazin highlights, the Trempelmarkt takes place in combination with a shopping Sunday. Many shops in the city center open their doors on Sunday afternoon from 1 p.m., so visitors can take the opportunity not only to browse the market, but also to grab one or two items from the local shops.

Traffic regulations and arrival

Important information about arrival: The streets in the old town will be closed to motorized traffic from 8 a.m. Residents are asked to repark their vehicles the evening before. THW helpers regulate traffic. The one-way street regulation on Südliche Mauerstrasse will be lifted between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. to ensure smooth operations. For visitors arriving by car, free parking spaces are available in the West commercial area and on Nördlingerstrasse (B446). To relieve traffic, a free shuttle service offers connections from the parking lots to the city center every 8 minutes. The stopping points include “Der Beck”, the BayWa car park, the Edeka car park and the Schwabach West business park. Alternatively, there are central bicycle parking spaces at the municipal business school and on the north side of the city church in Kirchgasse, such as reservix.de reported.

Gastronomy is also not neglected at the Trempelmarkt: health-conscious and gourmet lovers will be pleased with a diverse culinary offering. Visitors can sample bratwursts, crepes, langos and many other delicacies at stands throughout the city center. The organizers hope that the weather will cooperate to make the 27th edition of this popular event an unforgettable experience.

Schwabach has done a lot to preserve its old town in recent years; The city was awarded the Europa Nostra medal in 1979 for the renovation of historic buildings. The 900th anniversary was also celebrated in 2017. On this special Sunday, history and hustle and bustle merge and make the Trempelmarkt a festival for all the senses!
