In Wassermungenau, preparations are underway for the popular Wiesengrundfest, which opens its doors on Saturday, July 19th, from 5 p.m. The anticipation is palpable, and the members of the men's choir Frohsinn 1906 are eager to transform a meadow into an inviting festival area. Around 50 men under the leadership of board member Michael Grimm work with heavy equipment and tractors to bring straw bales and firewood to the site. A central fireplace and a straw castle will also be set up to underline the festive atmosphere.

As NN.de reports, the infrastructure is also being taken into consideration: supply and wastewater pipes, power connections, mobile flushing systems and toilet trolleys ensure that visitors are left without anything lacking. Tents are set up in a semicircle, the 200 meter long lighting garlands promise a festive atmosphere, while a DJ has his own booth to entertain guests with music.

A celebration for the whole family

The Wiesengrundfest is more than just a celebration; it is an indispensable part of social life in the village. During the preparations, women from the association are involved in peeling potatoes, baking cakes and serving food. Treasurer Dominic Fries emphasizes that the surpluses generated are used for important expenses such as music and performance clothing. Honorary board member Hans Fries supports the festival by making his meadow available and emphasizing the choir's financial help.

Depending on the weather, the organizers expect over 1,000 visitors who can look forward to a wide selection of food and drinks available at prepared counters and a long bar. A bratwurst stand is also a must! The feeling of community is also not neglected - special helper meals on the preparation evenings promote cohesion among the members.
