Donut feast in Schweinfurt: Over 7,000 donuts for a good cause!
On November 11th the motto in Schweinfurt was once again “eating donuts for a good cause”. For the tenth time, the Lions Club of Schweinfurt held its popular donut feast, which is held at the start of Carnival. This year, a whopping 7,000 donuts were ordered, which were of course diligently baked by the Drescher bakery. The delivery of the delicious treats took place on Tuesday morning and the anticipation was palpable. In this campaign, the proceeds from the donuts go entirely to the Lebenshilfe-Kindergarten Schweinfurt, which particularly underlines the commitment of the Lions Club.
Each donut costs 50 cents for the good cause, and the club has been able to generate around 33,000 euros for various social institutions through the donut feast since 2016. This year, the company Sparkasse Schweinfurt-Haßberge additionally supported the campaign by including a voucher worth five euros in each of the 295 donut boxes. This means not only a sweet surprise for buyers, but also an opportunity to create another 1475 euros for regional projects. All vouchers can be redeemed on the Sparkasse donation platform for non-profit organizations.
Orders and delivery
Orders for the donuts ran until November 6, 2025 via an online form. The price for a box of 24 donuts is 40 euros, including delivery. On November 11th, the donuts were delivered to those who ordered them between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m., and payment was made immediately upon delivery. The success of the campaign shows that the donut feast is very popular. Last year over 6,500 donuts were sold - this year the number has increased again.
With this commitment, the Lions Club not only promotes social roots in Schweinfurt, but also brings the community together. The donut feast is more than just a small celebration – it becomes a tradition that warms many hearts. Whether for the family, as a small gift for friends or simply as a sweet treat for yourself - the donuts bring joy and at the same time help those who need support.
As mainpost.de reports, the Schweinfurt Lions Club has produced around 67,000 donuts through the donut feast in recent years sold.
