UKW wins the WVV company run again – team spirit wins!

On June 26th, the WVV company run in Würzburg became the event of the year for the Würzburg University Hospital (UKW). With an impressive 330 registered runners, the UKW was the largest team at the event and was officially recognized for it. The lively event began and ended at the Dallenbergbad, over a distance of 7.4 kilometers, which not only promoted sporting ambition but also team spirit. The UKW also performed excellently in the individual ratings, which shows that the commitment to health and fitness pays off.

The UKW's participation was excellently organized by the company health management (BGM). Employees from various business areas ensured that the running team was well looked after before, during and after the event. This high priority that the UKW attaches to health and team spirit is a sign of the company's internal support and commitment to the well-being of its employees.

Company health promotion as the key to success

Company health promotion (WHP) is now more than ever an important topic in the world of work. Full-time employees in Germany spend around a fifth of the year working, which makes it essential that employers take responsibility for the physical and mental well-being of their employees. According to Statista, WHP is offered as a holistic package of measures that counteracts health stress in everyday work. In the UKW, this becomes visible through a wide range of offerings, such as sports opportunities and information events. In a survey by the Techniker Krankenkasse, around 40 percent of working people stated that they had already had negative experiences such as burnout at work, which underlines the urgency of WHP.

Measures such as addiction prevention, healthy eating and stress management are particularly relevant here. Around two thirds of people feel stressed in the heat at work, which increases the need for flexible and health-promoting solutions. The UKW has made it its mission not only to promote the health of its existing workforce, but also to act as an attractive employer for new employees.

The WVV company run was not only a sporting highlight, but also an impressive example of what commitment and teamwork can look like in practice. The UKW not only competes, but also sets an example for the importance of workplace health promotion. As the past few years have shown, the path to a healthier working environment is not only a necessity, but also a challenge that the UKW masters with flying colors.
