Investor plans to sell instead of renting: Wörthsee in turmoil!

There are signs of change in Wörthsee: On November 10th, the local council made a groundbreaking decision about the sale of 79 apartments on Teilsrain. Investor Dr. Max von Bredow has announced that he will not rent out the apartments, as originally planned, but rather sell them. This development has met with mixed reactions, particularly among the members of the Wohnen am Teilsrain association, who have long been hoping for a cooperative solution.

The association was founded nine years ago to create a communal form of living. The Munich housing cooperative Wogeno initially took over the project, but withdrew due to cost reasons. Max-von-Bredow-Baukultur GmbH then took over responsibility, but it too is now facing financial challenges. Thomas Rößler, the association's chairman, is frustrated by the lack of information policy and the developments as a whole.

The mayor is looking for solutions

Mayor Christel Muggenthal actively sought solutions. She is thinking about whether the community could buy some of the apartments themselves in order to perhaps save the cooperative idea. The purchase prices for the apartments are 6,500 euros per square meter for the local model and 8,500 euros for the other apartments. For comparison: Wogeno had suggested rental prices of 33 euros per square meter, which led to the negotiations being broken off.

The mayor offers the association a meeting to discuss the situation and possible options before the crucial local council meeting. If the sale goes ahead, it could have far-reaching consequences for the living situation in Wörthsee.

Structural developments in the area

Another aspect that influences the situation: A thermal power plant in which the municipality has already invested is being built in the immediate vicinity of the residential project. It remains to be seen how this structural development will affect the living situation in Teilsrain.

One thing is certain: the coming weeks will be crucial for the Wörthsee housing project and the associated hopes of the committed club members. Many are looking forward to a solution that meets the needs of the community. A good time to follow current events closely!
