Thomas Müller before moving to Vienna? Is the surprising offer coming?

How Mercury Reportedly, it wasn't just FC Bayern Munich that had another major shake-up after its last appearance in the Bundesliga - Rapid Vienna also threw its hat into the ring and expressed interest in signing Müller. The transfer to the Austrian capital is seen as quite surprising, especially considering the geographical proximity between Munich and Vienna, which could certainly encourage a move.
Müller, who is now 35 years old, seems to be looking for new opportunities in the transfer market. In an interview he indicated that on the one hand he is open to extraordinary offers and on the other hand he does not yet have any firm plans for his future. It remains to be seen whether he will accept his contract offer from Rapid Vienna, with an annual salary of 1.7 million euros. That would be financially feasible for Rapid and could further fuel interest.
Major League Soccer at a glance
But Rapid Vienna is not the only station that Müller has in mind. In the last few weeks, the ex-Bavarian has also been busy with Major League Soccer (MLS). After his performance at the FIFA Club World Cup in the USA, a move across the pond could well be considered for the former world champion. Loud Transfer market Los Angeles FC in particular is showing strong interest in him and is already in talks with Müller's representatives.
The rumor mill is bubbling about a possible involvement in the MLS: In addition to LAFC, clubs such as San Diego FC, FC Dallas and FC Cincinnati are also being brought into play. The latter even has discovery rights for Müller. But here too there is a surprising twist: Müller has rejected an offer from Cincinnati, which means that the chance of a move to one of the other MLS teams remains. A decision still seems to be up in the air.
A possible withdrawal or European alternatives
It looks like Müller expects the coming weeks to bring more clarity about his next steps. He has made it clear that he is also considering a withdrawal or perhaps a move to another European league, such as Serie A. Müller recently played his 750th game for Bayern Munich and has since emphasized that he does not want to commit to specific future plans. Rather, he wants to see what he will actually miss and will make his decision based on that.
Time is running out and it will be exciting to see where the path will lead for the Bavarian footballer. Whether it will be Rapid Vienna or possibly the jump to the MLS, the ball is clearly in Müller's court - and negotiations could gain momentum in the next few weeks.
