It's celebrating again in Illerbeuren! The 40th will take place on Sunday, November 9th, 2025. Leonhardi ride takes place, an event that is deeply rooted in the tradition of the Allgäu. Organized by Heimatdienst Illertal e.V. and under the patronage of District Administrator Alex Eder, the festival promises not only a highlight for horse lovers, but also for the whole family.
Everything will take place at the Illerbeuren open-air museum at 1 p.m. Numerous equestrian groups and historical teams will travel up to 100 kilometers to take part in the ride. The highlight? A festive blessing of the animals by Pastor Platthotam at the St. Leonhard Chapel, which is a very special experience for everyone involved. The event will be accompanied by music from local bands, and Klaus Schumacher from Legau will moderate the event.
Delicacies and cosiness
Your physical well-being is also taken care of! The Illerwinkel fools' guild will provide entertainment on the village square, in the museum grounds and in the Gromerhof hall. An ideal place to fortify yourself after the ride and enjoy the atmosphere.
